Injustice Everywhere is a website that gathers information on reported incidents of police misconduct and analyzes, compiles and publishes the results to the general public. A good way to follow the work they do is on their Twitter page or on Facebook.
They just came out with their 2009 Quarterly Police Misconduct Statistics Report. In the report, Denver is shares the 10th spot with several other cities for the highest incidents of police misconduct with seven.
The seven were:
- a judge reduced a Denver cop’s murder charges to aggravated assault (for shooting at South Dakota police in a Custer motel room)
- a bicyclist sued police officer Michael Cordova for a videotaped beating and false arrest he suffered last year,
- Denver police stop an internal investigation into wrongful arrest just to protect themselves from civil suit
- Denver makes it harder to investigate causes of wrongful arrest by giving police officers blanket immunity
- Denver gang unit officer arrested for 2nd & 3rd degree assault in domestic violence incident, not 1st time
- Denver CO cop suspended after he & his partner accused of threatening McDonalds worker with gun when order took too long
- Denver CO cop suspended after interviewed by FBI agents who spotted him at drug house while on duty multiple times
