Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin, formerly H. Rap Brown, was a black liberation leader serving as the chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee and late the Justice Minister of the Black Panther Party. He went on to convert to Islam, became an Imam and helped found a mosque in Atlanta. In 2000 he was charged with the shooting of two officers, one of whom died and is now serving a life sentence.
